Longford

Rating: 3 star

This accommodation got my attention because:

• it is World Heritage nominated
• it is fully self-contained
• guests get to stay in one of Tasmania's most significant historic sites
• there is complimentary entry to the Colonial Farm village attraction and Heritage Gardens
• the historic township of Longford is close by

Mole Creek

Rating: 4 star

Price: From around AUD $120 for the room for the night

This accommodation got my attention because:

• I still remember the fabulous dinner we had in the Laurel Berry restaurant
• after dinner I spotted a platypus in the creek after just a few minutes
• a 5 minute drive gets you to the Trowunna Wildlife Park (where you can see Tasmanian devils)
• a 10 minute drive gets you to the Mole Creek caves
