- there are a number of bars and restaurants to choose from, including a revolving restaurant
- live entertainment is available right there

This accommodation got my attention because: - it's in Sandy Bay, a little "away from it all" yet just a 15 minute walk to the harbour
- it's great for a romantic getaway, being an adults-only retreat, and taking no more than 14 adults at a time
- the building is a National Trust and Heritage Council listed Georgian mansion
- it's set in a half acre of English style gardens
- it's a multi-award winning boutique property
Eaglehawk Neck

Rating: 3 star Price: From around AUD $90 for the room for the night This accommodation got my attention because: - it overlooks Pirates Bay
- it's close to natural attractions such as "Devil's Kitchen", "Tasman Arch" and the famous Blowhole
- you can view historic convict relics nearby
- it's just a 20 minute drive to Port Arthur, location of Australia's premier convict site
- being part of the Best Western hotel chain, you can expect a certain standard of accommodation
Bruny Island

This accommodation got my attention because: - it's on Bruny Island, which I found to be a very special place
- the cottages are self-contained and have log fires
- it overlooks Daniels Bay and is close to the South Bruny National Park, the Neck beach and the Cape Bruny lighthouse
- there's a boat ramp and jetty close by
- it's won a number of awards
Port Arthur

- there are stunning water views
- there are 22 acres of protected bush land with abundant wildlife
- all cabins are fully self contained
- you get to enjoy activities like walking, snorkeling and cruising (all of which I love)
